It seems as if the poetry corner is an appropriate place for all sorts of creative endeavors. Tonight's presentation is Nika's artwork from the computer. She definitely has her own style. Enjoy "The Midnight Time" by Veronika Willardson.
I guess I need to show her how to use the text tool for her thought balloons.
An experiment in family dinnertime activity. The ladies and I will try to crank out a poem or two a week. The ladies are: Nika who loves to draw; Lina, who loves school; Lexa, who loves to giggle; and Sophie - ditto. The adult supervision consists of: Mama, who is the glue that binds us all together; and Papa, who makes it home for dinner most nights.

Backyard Visitor
Fox in the Backyard 12-6-2011
In the morning
In the snow
mama let our own dog go.
When she looked -
to her surprise -
She saw a fox
Before her eyes.
"A fox. A fox!"
She called for help.
Our own dog,
Bravely chased, not yelped.
A brief encounter
Near the fence -
Tensions flaring,
Such suspense!
A fox is clever, wily, keen;
He jumped the fence to forest green.
A small adventure to start the day -
We wish they all would start that way!
- Papa, Mama, Nika, Lina (the twins giggled this one out!)
